Admission Policy

Policy & Procedures

Admission is open to all children irrespective of race, nationality, religion, caste or gender.

Siblings are given preference in case of a vacancy.

The child must fulfil the age criteria stipulated by the Education Department.

The registration form is valid for the academic year in which it is submitted.

Wait-listed students are intimated of any vacancy that arises during the year.

Rules & Guidelines

What Every AHPS Student Should Know

Discipline is treated as an integral part of learning at AHPS. A few of the core expectations:

  • Only English is to be spoken within school premises
  • Every student carries their school diary each day, and prayer is said with respect
  • Bullying or ragging of any kind leads to a disciplinary committee review
  • Students should have respect for school property; damage is compensated by the student
  • Valuables and electronic items should not be brought to school
  • No student is sent home during class hours without a written parent request
  • Parents may meet teachers by prior appointment only (not between 8:30 AM-2:30 PM)

  • A neat, complete uniform is compulsory on all working days, as per the day order
  • Shoes should be neat with laces tied; straps are compulsory up to Class 2
  • Fancy or costly accessories, gold and silver ornaments are strictly not allowed
  • Boys keep hair neatly trimmed; girls with short hair wear a blue band, long hair in two plaits with a blue band
  • Nail paint, nail art, mehendi, tattoos, and makeup are strictly not permitted
  • K.G. children should have a labelled spare set of clothes kept at school
  • Only school uniform is worn to school, including on PTM days

  • Only fruits, salads, fresh juices, sprouts and nuts are allowed during the fruit break
  • Noodles, junk food, bottled juices, bakery items and oily food are strictly prohibited
  • Lunch should include vegetables or greens every day, in the right quantity
  • Avoid costly lunch containers — the school isn't responsible for their loss
  • Label your child's name on all belongings
  • Students bring their own lunch daily; going home for lunch isn't permitted

  • Students should be on campus at least 10 minutes before Assembly, which starts at 8:20 AM
  • A medical certificate is mandatory for absences longer than two days
  • No leave is granted during Summative Assessments or on term opening/closing days
  • Leave applications are submitted at least one day in advance, in writing or by email
  • A one-month written notice is required before withdrawing a child from school
  • Attendance at official school functions is compulsory

Please inform the class teacher of any specific allergy or illness as soon as possible. Students recovering from the following conditions should observe the listed quarantine period before returning:

  • Conjunctivitis — until full recovery
  • Measles — two weeks after the rash disappears
  • Mumps — 7-10 days after swelling subsides
  • Chicken Pox — two weeks after lesions appear
  • Jaundice — six weeks after recovery

Immediate first aid is provided by the school in case of sickness; in an emergency, the child is hospitalised locally and parents are informed right away.
